The program of 1 day trekking in Kew Mae Pan Doi Inthanon

Day 1

  • Departure between 7am and 7:30am by car or minivan from your hotel in Chiang Mai
  • After about 1h15 of driving, you will enter the National Park (entries included)
  • It will then be time to do a 2-hour trekking on the Kew Mae Pan trail, and climb to the highest peak in the country.
  • You will then visit the magnificent twin pagodas of the King and Queen and their gardens
  • Thai buffet style meal included
  • You will then visit a Hmong village to discover many local products such as honey, wine, coffee and teas
  • You will end with a visit to the highest waterfall in the country: Wachirathan
  • Check-in at your hotel between 5pm and 5.30pm

On the first day, the van will be waiting for you in front of your hotel between 9am and 9.30am. After a comfortable ride of less than an hour and a half through the countryside, he will drop you at the gates of the jungle, where your hike will begin. Once out of the car, you will enjoy a picnic in the countryside, with the birds singing for the background.   After a short break to digest, you will leave for three hours of walking through the rainforest. To recover from your efforts and your emotions, a camp of bamboo huts will welcome you at nightfall. You will enjoy a delicious dinner and spend a memorable evening among the trees, surrounded by your fellow adventurers. For those who will not be tired, many fun activities are planned! After a peaceful night in the calm of this natural space and a good breakfast facing the virgin forest, the hike will resume! Four hours of trekking through landscapes of rare beauty. Departure from your hotel by local truck. On the way, you will stop at the local market to buy fruit or snacks for during the trek. In the evening, once you arrive, you will have the opportunity to explore the village by talking with the local population and participating in local activities and at night, you will sleep in a bamboo cabin in the village.

On the second day, you will start with breakfast, then hike in the shade of green trees to the Karen village. After lunch, you will spend time in the Karen village walking around the village to see their local lifestyle. In the evening, you will spend time with the elephants by feeding them and swimming in a river. At night, you will have a typical dinner of a hill tribe, then a campfire led by the guide after dinner.

For the last day, you will start the day with a breakfast in the village. Then, you will take a bamboo rafting along the Mae Tang River for about 2 hours, depending on the water level, to a small town of the Lahu hill tribe. Small stop and visit of the village of Lahu. After that, you will continue the exciting and breathtaking ride on the bamboo raft to Shan village for 2 hours and have lunch there. Then, you will be brought back to Chiang Mai by a local truck and you will be dropped off at your hotel.
