Sleep in a real Karen hilltribe village and enjoy the National Park of Doi Inthanon Non-touristic trek off the beaten track !
Private trekking
Are you in need of a refreshing and rejuvenating break in the great outdoors? If so, come and embark on a 2-day and 1-night adventure to the highest peak in Thailand, Doi Inthanon. Not only will you be able to take in the natural beauty of the mountain, but you'll also have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the traditional way of life of the Karen People, an indigenous hill tribe that reside in the mountains and cultivate rice on terraced fields.
Upon arriving at your guide's village, the first day will be dedicated to exploring the surrounding area. You will have the flexibility to tailor the level of the trek to your preference, as it's a private experience. If you prefer to spend more time in the village, that's not a problem.
If you do choose to go trekking, your guide will take you to beautiful and scenic locations, where you can see terraced rice fields (during the rainy season from May to October) and take a break by the waterfalls. Don't forget to bring your swimming suit.
After lunch, you will continue trekking and then take a car to enjoy traditional bamboo rafting. Afterwards, you will return to the village where your guide will escort you to your private room, a traditional wooden and bamboo house. You will have dinner with your guide, and even have the option to help cook, before retiring for the night.
Next, you will embark on the 2-hour round trip Kew Mae Pan Trail, which offers some of the most breathtaking panoramic views in Thailand. The trail sits at 2,200 meters above sea level, just a few hundred meters below Thailand's highest peak. The visibility can vary depending on the weather, you may see a clear sky mountain view or be surrounded by mist, and sometimes even a sea of clouds. Please note that during the rainy season, this trail is closed, and you will trek on the Pha Dok Siew trail, surrounded by rice fields.
After this amazing hike, you will visit the giant Pagodas of the King and Queen, and their beautiful gardens. Your guide will share information about the Thai monarchy and the significance of these pagodas. After lunch, you will stop at the Wachiratan waterfall to take some beautiful photographs. Your final stop will be at the National Royal Agricultural Station Inthanon, which is designed to promote highland agriculture among the hill tribes of the region. The main focus of this station is on the research and development of highland fisheries and cultivation of plants, vegetables, and fruits, with the goal of providing the people of the hill tribes with more earning opportunities and a better living environment.
Your guide will bring you back around 5:00 - 5:30 pm. As this is a private eco-trekking tour, we can also drop you off directly at the airport, bus station, train station, or any other location of your choice.
* Entrance fees in Doi Inthanon Park and pagodas not included
