According to the local guide, it is also possible to take an alternative route that climbs higher into the mountains, offering spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Along the way, you may encounter animals raised by local villagers and discover signs of local wildlife, including:

  • Monkey tracks
  • Wild boar footprints
  • Peafowl
  • Rare insects and beetles
  • Wild mushrooms
  • Other forest plants and wildlife

Wildlife sightings vary depending on the season and conditions.

Cave & Hundreds of Bats

During the trek, you will stop at a natural cave once used by Buddhist monks as a place for meditation.

The cave is also home to hundreds of bats, making it one of the most unusual stops along the trekking route. Your local guide will lead you through the area while you discover this fascinating natural environment and its cave-dwelling wildlife.

Bua Tong Sticky Waterfall

After completing the trek, you will stop at the famous Bua Tong Waterfall (Sticky Waterfall) on the way back to Chiang Mai.
