Chiang Mai is an amazing place, especially thanks to its mountains and lush nature.
We have several must-see in the region, like the Doi Inthanon National Park, which its summit at 2665m, that make its the highest peak of Thailand, but also elephant sanctuaries for an amazing and unforgettable experience with these lovely animals.

Chiang Mai area is also well know for its hill-tribes, especially the Karen people, who live here for in traditionnal villages, and grow rice ( they are the one who mqke the rice-fields in terrasses that you can enjoy during the rainy season.

In our 3 days program, you will enjoy in private all these amazing must-see and must-do, and stay for the nights in a local karen village, the best way to learn about this hill-tribe and avoid to many transportation.
* Entrance fees in Doi Inthanon and pagodas not included

The program of 3 days: Karen eco-trekking, Doi Inthanon & Elephants Sanctuary

Day 1 Eco-trekking with Karen people

  • Departure between 9.00 - 9.40am at the lobby of your hotel in Chiang Mai
  • Drive to the Mae Wang area in the south of Chiang Mai
  • Stop in a local market where you can buy water and snack/fruits
  • Arrive at a Karen village then start the trekking
  • Choose the difficulty with your local guide
  • Walk until the lunch and learn about the jungle and the animals
  • Stop at a waterfall or river and eat a local lunch
  • Walk to the karen village through the rice fields in terasse and flower agriculture
  • Do some bamboo rafting, about 30min ( can be canceled regarding the water level )
  • Arrive at the village and have free time to visit
  • Enjoy a local and homemade dinner
  • Sleep in a traditionnal house in wood and bamboo

Day 2 Doi Inthanon National Park

  • Wake up early, enjoy your breakfast then drive to the Doi Inthanon National Park
  • Enjoy the view and if you are lucky, you will be able to see the sea of clouds
  • Visit the summit, which is the highest Thailand peak
  • Stop at the Pagodas of the Queen and the King, and learn about the Royal History
  • Trekking in the Ang Kha Trail, about 30min, and easy walk in the luxury jungle
  • Lunch in a thai restaurant in the park
  • Trekking in the most beautiful way depending on the season:
  • - during the rainy season in the Pha Dok Siew trail, surrounded by rice-fields.
  • - reste of the year: Kew Mae Pan Trail, this natural walk could be the most beautiful panoramic view you will ever see in Thailand.
  • Visit the Royal Project of Horticulture
  • Drive back to the Karen village
  • Dinner and night at the village

Day 3 Thong Elephant Sanctuary

  • Wake up, enjoy your breakfast then drive to the Thong Elephant Sanctuary
  • Arrive at the elephant camp, surrounded by sugarcane plantations
  • Discover the place, meet the elephants
  • Learn about them through the all day
  • Go for a mud spa with elephants ( bring a swimwear )
  • Go in the river to clean the elephants and yourself
  • Enjoy a thai lunch
  • Learn how to make medicine balls ( daily vitamins supplements ) and give them to your new friends
  • Go for a walk with them around, watch them, interact and take pictures. Elephants are completely free in the nearby hill, be ready to follow them!
  • Drive until a Waterfall and a Royal Project ( organic plantation to help local farmers )
  • Drive back to Chiang Mai around 5.00pm
